I watched the fight. All boring 12 rounds. I think the most exciting time in the fight was when Hopkins got pissed at Jones for a hit in the back of the head and came out swinging after the round was over. They punched through the bell ringing and the round coming to a needful end. I was so disappointed in the fight. I'm going to be honest. It was 2 steps back for Boxing. The acting from Hopkins was worse then then the fight. If this is what we have to look forward to with the Mayweather vs Suger's fight May 1. Count me out. I'd rather save the 49.99, and make it a Red Box night.
I don't under stand why do people want to fight and they set up huge fights. And then when it's time They don't through a fucking punch "Jones." They both are just fucking big mouths and suckered I hope Hundreds of Thousands of people, not millions for a payday. This fight and Golden Boy Promotions is right behind Bernie Madoff. With Scamming Peoples Hard earned money. It's sad when the under cards with kids and rockies fighting their hearts out. Are better then the Main event. Where guys are making in the millions. It's bullshit, and we should be able to sue for a product we are always promised to be good, and we never get what we pay for.

Bernard Hopkins did as most expected tonight and beat Roy Jones in a fairly uneventful fight. Those who were expecting a knockout were disappointed, and neither fighter looked to have sustained much damage during the fight.
The most damaging blows seem to have come from Jones in fact, who twice hit Hopkins in the back of the head. After both fouls Hopkins went down for several minutes, which looked like theatrics in the hope of getting a point taken from Jones at the time.
After the fight though Hopkins apparently collapsed in his dressing room, and was taken to a local hospital for observation. Giving his thoughts after the fight Hopkins said he was seeing dots in his vision from round 6 onwards due to the fouls.
The blows from Jones didn't look all that hard, and to be fair, Hopkins was giving his fair share of fouls as well, hitting Jones below the belt when he could see the referee was on the wrong side. Perhaps more troubling that all that though was Hopkins repetition of his earlier challenge to WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, who saw off challenger John Ruiz earlier in the evening.

I'll be the first to admit that Hopkins has made a career of being the underdog and pulling off surprising wins. More so he is a future hall of fame entrant and a much loved hero in Philly and throughout Pennsylvania. Thinking he has anything to even remotely trouble David Haye with is a different matter though.
Beating out a largely inactive and diminished Roy Jones to a decision is one thing. Haye is an entirely different beast. Haye won't skip rounds without throwing anything back. Haye won't be worried about taking Hopkins punches. Hopkins won't be able to muscle the larger Haye around like he was doing to Jones tonight. In short Haye at this stage has him beaten in almost every area.
Whether the fight will actually happen is questionable. Haye will probably have to fight Nicolai Valuev next, who had options on a rematch from their first fight. Then he will probably be eager to share the ring with one of the two most dominant fighters of this era, the Klitschko brothers. Whether that leaves any room for an undersized and unproven (at heavyweight) technician like Hopkins will largely depend on Haye.
Is there even any money in such a fight for the promoters? Probably not much, given the Jones rematch was apparently struggling to do much business. Haye is undoubtedly on the road to being the next big thing in British boxing though, and that alone can draw a lot of interest. Ricky Hatton's losing effort against Floyd Mayweather apparently drew over 850,000 buys from the U.K alone.
Dan, Pittsburgh: "Hopkins just loves being the underdog for some reason. A few years ago he probably could have got his hands on a heavyweight belt if he wanted one, the same as Jones did. These days the champs are all far too tough for Hopkins to pose a real threat"
William, Philadelphia: "Hopkins got his revenge over Jones, it's time for both of them to retire. If Hopkins couldn't even wobble Jones, who's chin is suspect these days, he has nothing for a decent heavyweight. Having said that, hell I'd watch Hopkins fight Haye"
Due to medical licensing issues, Thiago Alves has been pulled from his UFC 111 bout with Jon Fitch this Saturday at Newark’s Prudential Center. There will be no replacement opponent brought in for Fitch. New Jersey’s own Kurt Pellegrino and Fabricio Camoes will now be moved up to the Pay-Per-View portion of the card.

The UFC 111 card will proceed with ten bouts, including a welterweight championship match featuring Georges St. Pierre and Dan Hardy and an interim heavyweight title fight between Frank Mir and Shane Carwin.

By Ryan Dunn: In a recent interview with ESNEWS, Freddie Roach gave some revealing thoughts regarding where Manny Pacquiao wants to go next. He mentions Manny having been interested in fighting Antonio Margarito for some time. “He wants to fight [Antonio] Margarito,” said Roach. “Before Shane [Mosley] beat him, he told me that he wanted him next, after Oscar. So he saw something that maybe Shane saw.
